The epic showdown at the Le Mans car race between Carroll Shelby of the Ford Motor Company and the Scuderia Ferrari, a legend amongst experts, is now coming to the big screen. The movie Ford v Ferrari, starring Matt Damon as a young Shelby and Christian Bale as British driver Ken Miles, records the events that led to Ford’s historic triple victory at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.
The story follows Shelby and Miles as they design and perfect the legendary Ford GT40 racecar with the instructions of Henry Ford II, whose goal was to win the Le Mans and to end Enzo Ferrari’s dynasty by 1966. But the road to victory was not an easy one.
The film which is expected to be released in November accurately portrays the style and era of the 60’s.
