Bikini explosion

A nuclear explosion on Bikini Island in the Pacific was about to connect it with the most famous women’s clothing, the bathing suit of the same name. On July 5, 1946, the guests at a fashion show at the Molitor pool in Paris were surprised to see the first bikini at the design of the engineer Louis Réard. He gave the name inspired by the explosion on the exotic island and believing that the tiny swimsuit would cause a similar explosive reaction. The years that followed have rewarded him, and bikini since then has been a symbol of female beauty while attracting men’s permanent interest.
