Hedi Slimane Photo Diary

Hedi Slimane is known for his great skills at photography. In 2000 he worked with for Visionaire magazine as a guest editor and he moved to Berlin to collaborate with the  Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art. In addition, he took photos for magazines like Vogue Paris, VMAN and Purple, fashion campaigns and the cover of Phoenix’s Alphabetical album. In May 2006, he created the photographic blog Hedi Slimane Diary where he uploads a sample of his work.

Born in France, Hedi Slimane is a Fashion designer and a great photographer. At the age of 16 he started making his own clothes and later he studied Art History at the École du Louvre. In 1996, Yves Saint Laurent’s CEO, Pierre Bergé, gave him the position of creative director of the brand’s men’s collection. After 4 years at the helm of the house he went to Christian Dior to work for the menswear line. One year latter he created the fist ever Dior Homme perfume. When Stefano Pilati stepped down from Yves Saint Laurent, he appointed creative director of the men’s and women’s collections.


After 2 years Slimane he surprises fashion industry once again with his new job. On 21st of January LVMH announces that the designer is the new artistic, creative και image director of Celine.  LVMH chairman and chief executive Bernard Arnault in a statement told that Slimane will create two more clothing lines, one menswear and a haute couture and also Celine’s first perfume.
