Rare and precious

Inspired by the timeless design of “1849 Staunton” and exquisite craftsmanship, Australian designer and goldsmith Colin Burn created, from solid 18ct white gold, the Pearl Royale the most expensive and luxurious chess set ever made. Each piece of chess was worked by hand using platinum and pearls, finishing them with diamonds. With only three copies made, each will become increasingly valuable. The journey from inspiration, design, and finally to implementation took about ten years, as Burn’s goal was to create a “royal” level of chess, as a tribute to the British Chess Master Howard Staunton and his contribution to the development of the game.
