There, the idea of the bowler hat, the most characteristic accessory of the British male appearance, was born, and the story of a small business that today is the oldest factory in the world.
To Lock & Co. Hatters of London, was named by James Lock when he took over the business in 1765 after entering the Davis family. The store, after demandings of the aristocratic class for a hat ideal for gamekeepers , inspired the famous men’s low bowler hat that became an integral part of the English gentleman’s wardrobe. In 2017, remaining in the Lock family for 341 years, it retains quality fabrics and flawless design, creating vintage style elements for every contemporary gentleman that makes his image unique and remarkable.
